To submit an article to GateBreak, send your manuscript and the required signed forms by email. GateBreak accepts secondary research, literature-based articles, conceptual papers, essays, commentaries, methodological papers, and other non-interventional scholarly contributions.
What to Send by Email
Send the following material to submission@gatebreakopen.org: the article in Word or PDF format, the signed Complete Publication, Privacy, and Full Policy Acceptance Form, and the signed Complete Publication, Privacy, and Full Policy Acceptance Form.

Authors must download, complete, date, sign, and return one single complete GateBreak form before publication can be considered. This form contains publication authorization, privacy authorization, author declarations, prohibited-content declarations, No Peer Review acknowledgment, and the full long GateBreak policy.

Publication Identifier: ARK, not DOI
GateBreak assigns an ARK identifier to eligible publications. GateBreak does not assign a DOI. This choice supports GateBreak's independent, zero-cost, flexible, multi-format, online-only, and not peer-reviewed model.
A GateBreak identifier may follow a chronological structure, for example: ark:/NAAN/gatebreak.article.2026.0001. The final structure may be adapted according to the official ARK/NAAN configuration used by GateBreak.
Mandatory Information to Include
The submission must include: title, subtitle, author name or author names, declaration of affiliation or independent-author status, ORCID if available, last academic qualification obtained, abstract of maximum 300 words, area, keywords with a maximum of 6 keywords, and objective of the article with a maximum of 200 words.
Mandatory Paper Sections
The paper must contain the following sections: Introduction or Background, Methodology Used, Main Body, Discussion, Limitations, Conclusion, References, Conduct Declaration, and AI Use Declaration.
Paper Summary: Complete Checklist
- Article title: clear, specific, and consistent with the content of the paper.
- Type of contribution: specify whether the work is an article, review, thesis/dissertation-based contribution, monograph, book, book chapter, POV article, open letter, note, essay, commentary, methodological paper, conceptual paper, or other accepted format.
- Subtitle: optional but recommended when it helps clarify the focus of the article.
- Author information: author name or author names, affiliation or independent-author status, ORCID if available, and last academic qualification obtained.
- Abstract: maximum 300 words, summarizing the context, purpose, method, main content, and conclusion of the article.
- Area: the general field or topic area of the article.
- Keywords: maximum 6 keywords.
- Objective of the article: maximum 200 words, explaining the aim and purpose of the contribution.
- Introduction or Background: provides the reader with context, rationale, and the problem or topic addressed.
- Methodology Used: explains how the article was prepared, including literature search approach, sources, databases, selection logic, review method, conceptual method, or analytical approach where applicable.
- Main Body: presents the core content, argument, synthesis, comparison, review, analysis, or discussion of the selected material.
- Discussion: interprets the main points, explains their meaning, and connects them to the broader topic or existing literature.
- Limitations: declares the limits of the article, including methodological, bibliographic, interpretive, source-related, or scope-related limitations.
- Conclusion: summarizes the final message, implications, and main contribution of the article.
- References: all references must be listed at the end of the paper and cited within the text.
- Reference formatting: GateBreak will convert references into the required standard format, but the author must provide a complete reference list and must ensure that each reference is already cited in the text.
- Tables and figures: tables and figures must be submitted as separate files from the main text file, numbered clearly, indicated in the text, and accompanied by a short description explaining what each table or figure represents.
- Placement of tables and figures: GateBreak will insert tables and figures in numerical order before the References section, following the author's numbering and text indications.
- Conduct Declaration: confirms that the manuscript does not contain plagiarism, fabricated data, manipulated information, misleading claims, unlawful content, defamatory content, unauthorized third-party material, discriminatory content, extremist content, incitement to violence, proselytism, or any other non-compliant material.
- AI Use Declaration: declares whether AI tools, chatbot systems, automated writing tools, translation tools, reference-generation tools, image-generation tools, or other automated systems were used in the preparation of the manuscript.
- Copyright and originality statement: confirms that the article is original and that all third-party material is properly authorized, cited, or legally usable.
- Conflict-of-interest statement: declares any conflict of interest or confirms that no conflict exists.
- Funding statement: declares any funding source or confirms that no funding was received.
- Data availability statement: where applicable, explains whether the article uses only published, public, anonymized, non-sensitive, or legally usable secondary sources or datasets.
- Ethics and consent statement: where applicable, confirms that the article does not include prohibited primary human or animal research and does not include unauthorized identifiable, clinical, sensitive, or confidential information.
- Signed Complete Publication, Privacy, and Full Policy Acceptance Form: must be completed, dated, signed, and returned by email.

References
References must be listed at the end of the paper and must also be cited within the text. The author is responsible for ensuring that all references are real, accurate, relevant, correctly written, and consistent with the claims made in the article.
GateBreak will manage the conversion of the reference list into the required standard format. However, the author must provide a complete reference list and must ensure that all references are already cited in the text before submission. GateBreak may correct or standardize the format of references, but it does not replace the author's responsibility for the existence, accuracy, relevance, correctness, and proper in-text use of each source.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures must be submitted as separate files from the main text file. GateBreak will insert tables and figures in numerical order before the References section, according to the numbering and indications provided by the author.
The author must number each table and figure clearly, must indicate in the text where each table or figure should be placed, and must provide a short description explaining what each table or figure represents. The author remains fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, legality, copyright compliance, and correct interpretation of all tables, figures, images, graphs, diagrams, screenshots, and visual materials submitted to GateBreak.
Privacy and Policy Acceptance
The Complete Publication, Privacy, and Full Policy Acceptance Form confirms that the author understands the personal data processed by GateBreak for submission, communication, editorial handling, online publication, and article sharing. The same form also includes acceptance of the complete GateBreak Policy and Publication Disclaimer.
GateBreak Editorial Management
GateBreak will independently manage article layout, editorial formatting, reference-format conversion, and general editorial handling. These activities are technical and editorial services only. They do not constitute peer review, scientific validation, methodological approval, endorsement, or transfer of responsibility from the author to GateBreak.
Accepted Content
GateBreak accepts secondary research and non-interventional scholarly work, including theses and dissertations adapted for publication, monographs, books, book chapters, POV articles, open letters, notes, literature reviews, systematic reviews, scoping reviews, umbrella reviews, rapid reviews, integrative reviews, critical reviews, mapping reviews, methodological reviews, theoretical reviews, conceptual reviews, evidence reviews, bibliometric reviews, scientometric analyses, citation analyses, meta-analyses based only on already published aggregate data, conceptual papers, methodological papers, opinion articles, perspective articles, commentaries, essays, educational articles, technical notes, policy analyses, article reviews, book reviews, historical analyses, philosophical analyses, professional reflections, and evidence summaries.
Not Accepted
GateBreak does not accept primary research involving direct testing, experimentation, intervention, observation, or new data collection on humans or animals. This includes clinical trials, animal testing, experiments, interviews, surveys collecting new participant data, identifiable case reports, or studies involving sensitive personal, clinical, or confidential data.
Prohibited Content
GateBreak does not accept content involving racism, denigration, discrimination, hate speech, terrorism, incitement to violence, extremist propaganda, unlawful conduct, harassment, defamation, intimidation, violent radicalization, or proselytism. Religious, ideological, political, or social topics may be considered only when treated in a lawful, non-proselytizing, non-inciting, non-denigrating, scholarly, critical, or educational manner.
No APC / No Manipulation / No Favoritism
GateBreak is totally independent and free for authors. It applies a strict separation between three principles: no author fees, no manipulation, and no favoritism.
- No APC: GateBreak does not charge Article Processing Charges, submission fees, publication fees, editorial handling fees, formatting fees, archiving fees, social-sharing fees, or paid visibility fees.
- No Manipulation: GateBreak does not impose forced references, citation manipulation, artificial visibility, or content changes designed to manipulate the author's work or benefit third parties.
- No Favoritism: GateBreak does not provide preferential treatment to authors, institutions, sponsors, funders, organizations, companies, ideologies, or external interests.
No Peer Review
GateBreak does not perform peer review. GateBreak performs checklist-based QA concerning form, format, language, editorial guidelines, references, declarations, tables, figures, and basic consistency. These checks do not constitute scientific validation, methodological approval, academic certification, expert endorsement, or judgment on the author's independent ideas.

GateBreak checks whether the article fits the platform scope and does not contain prohibited primary human or animal research.
5. Formal and reference check
GateBreak may perform basic editorial, formal, AI-assisted, chatbot-workflow-assisted, and bibliographic checks.
6. Editorial management
GateBreak manages layout, editorial formatting, reference-format conversion, and online preparation of the article.
7. Online publication and article sharing
If accepted, the article is published online and may be shared on social networks and digital channels.
